23rd June 2003 Windsurfing: Golf Course Car Park, Borth Wind Direction: WNW Wind Stength: 13 knots Surf / Sea State: 1 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 15C Sea Temperature: 15C Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: I was working outside today overlooking the sea and it was windy all morning, so by 2pm I'd had enough, cancelled my other jobs and rushed to the beach. I measured the wind and got an 18 knot reading but it looked a little less than that really so I rigged my big (6.3m) sail and big (99ltr) board. As I got on the water the wind dropped even more and there just wasn't enough to get going. I did manage to get planing twice and made a tack on the outside, but I only bothered to go out a couple of times before giving up. It was better than doing nothing or working I guess, but really it was a waste of time... If only I'd not gone to work at all, I wouldn't have missed the wind then!!! |
